Perhaps not the best spot to shoot from, as he narrowly avoided landing on me during a capoeira demonstration as part of Vancouver Fashion Week

Have started (sort of re-started) playing & training capoeira.  I kill slaveowners on the daily.  Good for my soul after spending all day fighting with slavery research.
[That isn’t me, btw.  But I will be posting all the woc capoeira images I can find.  You’re welcome.]

I’ve been dying to start a martial arts, but because of PT sessions & boot camp, it’s been difficult to find a schedule that suits me. I was thinking of doing Muay Thai, MMA & Krav Maga at Muay Fit, but it’s likely that their class schedule would conflict with my own. Now, I’m thinking of learning capoeira with Capoeira Camara Malaysia. We’ll see what happens in September… (I also want to do the CrossFit foundation programme with Pushmore but that totally conflicts with my schedule!).

straycalico:

Women’s capoeira roda in Brazil. As a fan of body language, I’ve got eyes on the complexity of the yellow and black shirted one (who’s featured better in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFUtL2h1Eko ), and the style and flow of the tall lithe one at the beginning.

…the world’s a big place…
